Remi

At just 9 years old, Remi currently plays four sports—lacrosse, soccer, basketball, and softball, in addition to playing the violin and dancing year-round. Her older brother Trent says that her schedule is just like any of her neurotypical peers'— if not more packed! On top of her hobbies, Remi "does well in school, and keeps up her social life with friends and family. She is so special to us."

When not at school, practices, and rehearsals, Remi catches up on her favorite Disney Channel shows "Bunk'd" and "Sydney to the Max." She and Trent like playing outside and going out to eat together.

Remi's mother Susan says that life with a child with Down syndrome can be hard work, "but it's an awesome journey." Trent echoes that Remi has taught him much, including "the importance of kindness and positivity." From a sibling's perspective, he says that for him "there isn’t really anything that's hard, just unfamiliar. Everyone takes time to develop; it’s natural."

The support of siblings like Trent is beautiful to watch— we're grateful to each of you for advocating for our amazing brothers and sisters. Thank you for being here!
