Aiden

Aiden, 2, loves cartoons, music, and dancing, and just happens to have Down Syndrome. Toddlers with this diagnosis share many of the same characteristics and milestones as typically developing toddlers. For Aiden, some of these are walking, running, and jumping. He also knows his ABCs, numbers, and some colors, and is quickly learning how to feed himself and toilet train. He has five older siblings who love him and "give him everything he wants," says his mother Nikki. "He is a little spoiled and he knows it." She also says that Aiden is friendly with everyone, which is a trait commonly associated with Down Syndrome.

"Aiden has been a true joy to every one of us since day one!" His mother has been supportive of his progress as he meets milestones—even if sometimes at a different stage than his peers. She says that "watching Aiden learning new things warms my heart so much, because I realize he will get there, just when he is ready."
